Colin
Colter is a metro-Detroit native,
having grown up in Dearborn.
Following his mom’s battle with
breast cancer, he knew he wanted to
work in the medical field though he
wasn’t sure exactly where. He began
his undergraduate career at Wayne
State University studying psychology
with a focus on prerequisites for
graduate health science programs.
While attending school he worked as
a nursing assistant in a
convalescent home and Beaumont
Dearborn’s cardiovascular ICU. He
further volunteered with Seasons
Hospice of Michigan and Children’s
Hospital of Michigan. Each of these
experiences further cemented his
resolve to work in healthcare and
working in the hospital alongside
PAs set his heart on the career of
Physician Assistant.
Upon graduating in 2016 he moved to
DuBois, WY for a year to expand his
clinical care experience at SOAR
Camp for children with ADHD and
learning differences. Colin is the
Vice President of the PA class of
2019 and has worked to involve his
fellow classmates in HIV prevention,
testing, and counseling in Detroit.
With the little free time afforded
during school, he enjoys reading,
traveling, and exploring Detroit
with his classmates. exploring
